Pico de Gallo Salsa
This fresh, uncooked salsa has the perfect mix of acidity that adds warmth and flavor to anything you make. You can adjust the heat and all the ingredients to your taste. Because of these properties, this Salsa Cruda is best served on grilled fish or meat, on fish tacos or with French fries. Some other salsas you might like mango avocado salsa, salsa verde, and corn salsa with lime.
How to Make the Best Pico De Gallo
Doing this from scratch is easy and SO much better than buying it pre-made. Trust me if you read the comments you will see everyone agree, if you do it from scratch you will never buy Jarred again!
Pico de Gallo, also known as Salsa Fresca or Salsa Cruda, is a type of raw salsa that is widely used in Mexican cuisine. It is traditionally made from chopped tomatoes, onions, and jalapeno or serrano peppers with salt, lime juice, and coriander.
I love the fresh and bright flavors of Pico de Gallo and it can be used in so many ways. Try it on grilled fish or steaks, serve it on tacos, go well with eggs or simply with french fries.
I usually whip this up when I need a quick starter. I like it extra chalky, but you can adjust the flavors to your liking! Use jalapeno peppers to keep it mild or use serrano peppers instead for extra hot salsa. I love adding fresh garlic and a little bit of paprika which are optional but great when you want to add more flavor and zing.
