Strawberries and Yogurt Whipped Cream

Strawberries and cream

At the weekend I like to treat myself to a dessert every now and then. If you’ve never made whipped cream from scratch, indulge yourself! One of my favorite ways to lighten whipped cream is to whip it up and fold in some Greek yogurt. It gives it a slight odor that goes wonderfully with fruits and reduces fat and calories. Perfect for a quick and easy dessert or try them in crepes or on yogurt waffles.

I partnered with Stonyfield, my favorite yogurt brand, to create this healthy dessert with their Stonyfield Organic 0% Fat Plain Greek Yogurt. I love Stonyfield because I know their products are “intentionally good” – good for you, the planet and your taste buds. Their organic yogurt comes from cows in the pasture and does not contain any toxic, persistent pesticides. The creamy 0% fat Greek yogurt is the perfect choice if you’re trying to cut down on your fat intake. It is also rich in protein and has live active cultures.

How To Make Yogurt Whipped Cream:

All you need to make yogurt whipped cream is a hand mixer and these four ingredients:

  • sugar
  • Cold cream
  • Pure vanilla extract
  • Non-fat Greek yogurt

Put the sugar, vanilla and chilled whipped cream in a bowl. Whisk with a hand mixer for two to three minutes on medium speed until the cream reaches stiff peaks. Then fold in the yogurt for about 15 seconds or whisk until it is incorporated.

What to eat with whipped cream

  • This yogurt whipped cream goes so well with strawberries, but when out of season, serve over another fruit like bananas, raspberries, or peaches.
  • It would be delicious on cakes, sprinkles, waffles, and more.
  • You can also use the healthy whipped cream in any recipe that calls for regular whipped cream, like these berry and cream Czech crepes.
